Food bank relocation
A message from Kerry

Dear Rotary Members.

The committee and I would like to pass on to the members of Rotary our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful people that helped the Kapiti Food bank move premises last Friday.
We could not have done it without you. The people power, the truck, the van, the cones, the trolley lifts, the laughter, the energy, the giving was such a joy to witness and be part of. You're a great asset to our community and the giving is done with such generosity.

Thank you from all of us.
Please feel free to pop in and see what the finished premises look like.

Kindest Regards
Kerry Lovell and Committee

Inspiring story – Rotary Opens Opportunities
A fascinating story of how changes in Rotary history and engagement with community has opened opportunities. This is a story from Waitakere Rotary club which can act as an inspiration for us all:

Roberts, young, Māori, tattooed down to her gold-ringed fingers, and born into the gang life, is the youngest president of Waitakere Rotary and only the fourth woman to lead the West Auckland club.

"With Rotary wanting more change and diversity, they could see that I'm in it for the cause not the applause. I think I served a year and a couple of months ... did president-elect duties while doing the Unity in Our Community mahi.

"It’s not exactly the same but it’s the same kaupapa, helping in the community and because I do that type of mahi I wanted to be part of a bigger machine."
